Random Drug Testing
Random drug testing is a process whereby drug tests are unannounced and every employee has an equal chance of being selected for testing. It is most likely the best deterrent to keep employees from using illicit drugs. To achieve deterrence, there must be an element of surprise in a random testing program. Because the employees never know when they will be tested, they tend to refrain from using drugs.
The program works best when one person is in charge of providing monthly updates of the new hires and terminations. A random selection form is attached to assist in this procedure.
